Centro Tecnológico de Componentes (CTC)
Centro Tecnológico CTC is a non-profit foundation recognized as a Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT-79) by the Ministry for the Economy and Competitiveness since 2008. Its major objective is improving the competitiveness of companies by means of the generation of technological knowledge, carrying out R+D+I activities and contributing to the enhancement companies’ competitiveness and sustainability. CTC is structured in three main knowledge areas: Advanced materials; Industry and Energy; and Navigation and robotics. Industry and Energy area works on technological solutions based on digital twins and offshore structures, while navigation and robotics area is specialized on artificial intelligence, automatism and geolocation. On the other hand, Advanced Materials laboratory is focused on developing functional nanocomposites and surface engineering through synthesis and functionalisation of nanoparticles by wet chemical methods. In this field, organic coating, polymeric bulk materials and technical mortars with new and improved tailor-made and/or multifunctional performances are highlighted. This has allowed to CTC developing multisectoral solutions as aerospace, automobile, coating and building, among others. On the other hand, Advanced materials have developed different solutions based on graphene and silicon quantum dots nanostructures for self-sensing and optoelectronics application.
