There
are two different ways to reach Segovia from Madrid:
First:
by train from Chamartin to Segovia.
Second:
by bus from Principe Pio to Segovia (recommended).
For
both methods you will need to reach either Principe Pio Bus Station or Chamartin Train Station. Both of these
can be reached by Metro, bus or taxi from the airport.
If
you arrive early and fancy a quick look at Madrid, baggage lockers are available in the Airport, and a taxi will have you
in the centre of Madrid in 15-20 minutes. The best places to see are Puerta del Sol for the old city or Serrano for the upmarket
shopping area.
Getting
back to the airport is easy; just hail any taxi with a green light or green sign saying 'Libre' in the window.
From the Airport By Metro
You
can now travel to & from the Barajas Airport on the new metro line number 8. Prices are 1,10 Euros for a single journey
and 5,20 Euros for ten journeys. Ten-ticket passes are also valid on the buses, but not for the special buses to the airport.
The Metro is open from 6.30am to 1.30am every day. Map

Taxis from the airport to the centre of Madrid cost around 25 Euros (US$26.00). There is almost never a problem getting a
taxi from the indicated ranks, and we would advise against accepting offers from taxi drivers inside the airport building,
as there are frequent reports of passengers being ripped-off.
A taxi from the Madrid airport (Barajas) to Segovia will
cost around 55 Euros. We advise you to agree on a price before getting into the taxi.
